[1] “Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you.
[2] See, darkness covers the earth and thick darkness is over the peoples, but the Lord rises upon you and his glory appears over you.
[3] Nations will come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your dawn.
[4] “Lift up your eyes and look about you: All assemble and come to you; your sons come from afar, and your daughters are carried on the hip.
[5] Then you will look and be radiant, your heart will throb and swell with joy; the wealth on the seas will be brought to you, to you the riches of the nations will come.
[6] Herds of camels will cover your land, young camels of Midian and Ephah. And all from Sheba will come, bearing gold and incense and proclaiming the praise of the Lord.
[7] All Kedar’s flocks will be gathered to you, the rams of Nebaioth will serve you; they will be accepted as offerings on my altar, and I will adorn my glorious temple.
[8] “Who are these that fly along like clouds, like doves to their nests?
[9] Surely the islands look to me; in the lead are the ships of Tarshish,* bringing your children from afar, with their silver and gold, to the honor of the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, for he has endowed you with splendor. / *Or the trading ships
[10] “Foreigners will rebuild your walls, and their kings will serve you. Though in anger I struck you, in favor I will show you compassion.
(Isaiah 60:1-10, MSG) [1] "Get out of bed, Jerusalem! Wake up. Put your face in the sunlight. GOD's bright glory has risen for you.
[2] The whole earth is wrapped in darkness, all people sunk in deep darkness, But GOD rises on you, his sunrise glory breaks over you.
[3] Nations will come to your light, kings to your sunburst brightness.
[4] Look up! Look around! Watch as they gather, watch as they approach you： Your sons coming from great distances, your daughters carried by their nannies.
[5] When you see them coming you'll smile--big smiles! Your heart will swell and, yes, burst! All those people returning by sea for the reunion, a rich harvest of exiles gathered in from the nations!
[6] And then streams of camel caravans as far as the eye can see, young camels of nomads in Midian and Ephah, Pouring in from the south from Sheba, loaded with gold and frankincense, preaching the praises of GOD.
[7] And yes, a great roundup of flocks from the nomads in Kedar and Nebaioth, Welcome gifts for worship at my altar as I bathe my glorious Temple in splendor.
[8] "What's that we see in the distance, a cloud on the horizon, like doves darkening the sky?
[9] It's ships from the distant islands, the famous Tarshish ships Returning your children from faraway places, loaded with riches, with silver and gold, And backed by the name of your GOD, The Holy of Israel, showering you with splendor.
[10] Foreigners will rebuild your walls, and their kings assist you in the conduct of worship. When I was angry I hit you hard. It's my desire now to be tender.

[6] 많은 낙타들이 너의 땅을 덮을 것이며, 미디안과 에바의 어린 낙타가 너의 땅을 뒤덮을 것이다. 스바의 모든 사람이 금과 유향을 가지고 와서, 주님께서 하신 일을 찬양할 것이다.
[7] 게달의 모든 양 떼가 다 너에게로 모여들며, 네가 느바욧의 숫양들을 제물로 쓸 것이다. "내가 내 성전을 이전보다 더욱 영화롭게 할 때에, 이것들이 내 제단 위에 합당한 제물로 오를 것이다."
[8] 저기, 구름 떼처럼 몰려오는 저 사람들이 누구냐? 제 보금자리로 돌아오는 비둘기처럼 날아오는 저 사람들이 누구냐?
[9] 너의 자녀들이 온다. 섬들이 나를 사모하며, 다시스의 배들이 맨 먼저 먼 곳에 있는 너의 자녀들을 데리고 온다. 그들이, 주 너의 하나님의 이름을 높이려고, 이스라엘의 거룩하신 하나님께 드리려고, 은과 금을 함께 싣고 온다. 주님께서 너를 영화롭게 하셨기 때문이다.
[10] 이방 자손이 너의 성벽을 쌓으며, 그들의 왕들이 너를 섬길 것이다. "비록 내가 진노하여 너를 쳤으나, 이제 내가 은혜를 베풀어서 너를 불쌍히 여기겠다."

피곤하고 지겨울 때
[반추/rumination]
따분하고 피곤하고 고단한 삶(지겨움)에 맞서기 위한 이니셔티브는 마치 지금 내 곁에 하나님이 계시지 않는 것처럼 생각하고 스스로 첫 걸음을 내딛어야 합니다.
아무것도 하지 않으면서 하나님의 도움만을 기다리는 것은 소용없는 일입니다. 그러나 일단 우리가 일어나면 즉시 하나님이 그곳에 계신다는 것을 알게 됩니다.
하나님이 신자에게 영감을 주실 때 (Whenever God gives us His inspiration), 그 이니셔티브(주도권)은 우리의 도덕적인 선택, 즉 순종에 관한 것(전인격적이면서 자발적인 것)이 됩니다. 그렇다면 우리는 아무것도 하지 않고 계속 누워 있지 말고 순종하기 위해 행동해야 합니다. 우리가 일어나 빛을 발한다면 그 지겨움은 거룩함으로 바뀌게 될 것입니다.
가장 확실한 테스트
지루하고 고된 삶이 계속되는 것은 그 사람의 인격과 진정성을 가장 확실히 드러내는 테스트가 됩니다. 지루하고 고된 일은 우리가 이상적인 일이라고 생각하는 일과는 거리가 먼 일입니다. 지극히 힘들고, 지루하고, 천하고, 사소한 일입니다. 그런데 신자가 이런한 일을 어떻게 대하느냐에 따라 신자의 영성은 즉각적으로 테스트를 받고, 신자가 영적으로 진실한지 아닌지를 알 수 있습니다.
남의 발을 씻겨 주어야 함
요한복음 13장에서, 예수님은 소위 ‘가장 보잘 것 없고 지겨운 일’을 하십니다. 예수님은 어부였던 제자들의 발을 씻깁니다. 그러면서 주님은 “주이며 선생인 내가 너희의 발을 씻겨 주었으니, 너희도 서로 남의 발을 씻겨 주어야 한다 (요 13:14).”고 말씀하십니다.
지겨운 일가운데 주님의 빛을 보기를 원하다면 하나님이 주시는 영감을 받고 그 일을 대해야 합니다. 하나님의 영으로 충만한 사람들이 보잘 것 없고 지겨운 일을 하면 신기하게도 그 일들이 거룩해 집니다.
주님은 우리를 통해 무언가를 하실 때 항상 그것을 변화시키십니다. 우리 주님은 우리 인간의 육체를 취하여 변화시키시고, 이제 모든 신자의 몸은 "성령의 성전"이 되었습니다. (When the Lord does something through us, He always transforms it. Our Lord takes our human flesh and transforms it, and now every believer’s body has become “the temple of the Holy Spirit”)

Re-state to yourself what you believe, then do away with as much of it as possible, and get back to the bedrock of the Cross of Christ.
